Quantum computing is one of the most fascinating topics in IT today. Based on quantum mechanics, this fundamentally new computer architecture overturns the conventional rules of physics and IT. However, quantum computing should not be seen as a replacement for modern computers, but rather as a way to make unsolvable problems solvable.

As one of the pioneers in quantum computing, IBM created the IBM Q Network, a unique group of businesses and organizations. The aim is to develop applications and tools, and above all to research the undiscovered benefits and potential of the technology. The technical basis comes in the shape of IBM Quantum Experience, currently the largest full-stack solution in quantum computing. From an academic perspective, the focus in Germany is on the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft’s IBM Q Hub and the IBM Q Hub of the University of the German Armed Forces. One of the main private-sector pioneers is Daimler, which is collaborating with IBM in the search for solutions for electric vehicles.

As IBM’s largest Business Partner in Europe, SVA is now also part of the IBM Q Network and will collaborate actively in the development of products and solutions for the IT of tomorrow. This also means major benefits for SVA clients: Alongside the targeted expansion of our own expertise in quantum computing, SVA will also help clients when purchasing expertise and, in particular, will accompany them on the way to tailored solutions. SVA experts are already successfully supporting clients in high-performance computing projects (HPC) and can now set new standards.

“Quantum technology is leaving the laboratory and is on the way to becoming a productive tool in everyday operations,” explains Philipp Alexander, CEO of SVA. “By joining the IBM Q Network, we will be able to shape the path to commercial applications so that we can provide innovative products and solutions for our clients in the future.”

“By joining the IBM Q Network, SVA will become an important partner for us and will help us expand our knowledge of and the ecosystem for quantum computer technology in Europe. As the first German Business Partner to join the network, they will also become part of our global activities that aim to bring the technology to market more widely together with system integrators and consultancy firms,” says Anthony J. Annunziata, Director of the IBM Q Network.
