The HiGHmed consortium aims to develop innovative information infrastructures to accelerate the transfer of results from research to clinical practice. The consortium combines and integrates the work of eight university hospitals and medical faculties, as well as additional partners from science and industry. Expanding data sciences in clinical supply requires not only excellent hardware, but also comprehensive expertise in both health care and IT.

The Heidelberg-based HiGHmed e. V. is the central service provider for the HiGHmed consortium. The association focuses on combining central services such as procurement, PR and onboarding of new partners in HiGHmed. It also expands existing research focus areas by initiating and performing suitable scientific projects, as well as building national and international cooperations with industrial, scientific and political institutions.

On the basis of the framework agreement, SVA will support HiGHmed members with both its expertise and many years of experience in IT memory technologies, along with its comprehensive knowledge in the health care sector. The framework agreement specifies Dell technology for the IT infrastructure. SVA’s specialists optimally link this technology with health care solutions that focus on data analysis and databases, such as big data technologies for assessing data.

“Our consulting expertise is based on years of cooperation with hospitals and research institutes, particularly in big data,” explains Daniel Vois, the responsible account manager at SVA. “This will be built on the construction of the required infrastructure at HiGHmed consortium sites across Germany.”

Stefan Becker, Managing Director of HiGHmed e. V., emphasizes the value that the framework agreement brings: “HiGHmed e. V. and its members rely on SVA’s consulting services and expertise in many major digitalization projects in health care. These also focus on developing and adapting interoperable applications, and integrating them into the infrastructure.”
