Vectra Networks is a company from the field of network detection and response (NDR) and was one of the first providers of real-time, AI-based network attack detection solutions for cloud, SaaS, data center and company infrastructures. 

Vectra Cognito recognizes the attacker through traces left behind when moving around the network. On the basis of the scenarios it has already learned, the technology detects damaging behavior in network traffic and also discovers new patterns. The AI learns the customer’s typical network traffic and can differentiate it from malicious behavior. In contrast to traditional intrusion detection systems, this process takes place without signatures; instead, it uses the AI-based platform developed specifically by Vectra, which is enhanced by machine learning. As such, the solution even recognizes attacks that would otherwise have been discovered much later on or not at all.
