Conquering the unforeseeable

In an increasingly digitalized world, companies are more dependent on their IT systems than ever before. At the same time, the threats posed by natural disasters and targeted attacks on organizations are also growing dramatically. If systems fail for an extended period of time or data is lost, this can have severe consequences ranging from losses in productivity to reputational and financial damage.

That makes it crucially important for IT managers to prepare for possible emergencies and have a disaster recovery strategy in place that guarantees the fast recovery of business processes.

With Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), we offer you a reliable solution to protect your workloads in our secure SVA cloud and restore them in the event of an emergency. As part of this service, we provide you with capacities that you can call upon as failover resources at any time and can be used for both emergencies and disaster recovery tests.

Normal operation restored

Back to normal operation in just a few minutes

Our DRaaS is based on a VMware platform, making it easy for you to replicate your virtual machines securely in our ISO 27001-certified data center in Germany. The replicated statuses of your virtual environment are maintained ready to be switched on again; so you can activate and start up the disaster recovery environment independently and in just a few minutes using our self-service portal. This also gives you full control of the replication intervals, allowing you to meet your individual protection needs and business requirements at all times.

With SVA DRaaS, you can create and adapt a predefined recovery plan that supports you not only in the event of an emergency, but also when simulating and optimizing the recovery processes. As a result, you are perfectly prepared to respond quickly and efficiently if the worst does occur.

Frequently asked questions

FAQs

What does Disaster Recovery as a Service mean?

DRaaS enables companies to access their business-critical workloads quickly in the event of an emergency. Instead of running your own infrastructure for disaster recovery, SVA takes on this task as a service provider.

Why do I need DRaaS when I already have a backup solution?

On its own, a simple backup cannot guarantee that your workloads can be restored quickly should a disaster occur. In the event of a hardware failure without DRaaS, it can therefore take several days or even weeks to resume operations, resulting in considerable downtimes. DRaaS goes beyond merely data backup and gives you the peace of mind that your workloads are available quickly and reliably, even in the event of a disaster.

What is the difference between DRaas and BaaS?

The aim of DRaaS is to restore the entire IT infrastructure and thus business operations quickly after a disaster. This is done by replicating entire environments, including their applications and systems, in an external cloud infrastructure. The recovery time objective (RTO) for DRaaS is generally much shorter than that for BaaS.

BaaS, on the other hand, focuses on regular backup of data in the cloud at a file level so that it can be restored in the event of a data loss. If there is a total failure of the IT infrastructure, the RTO can be significantly longer than for a DRaaS, as the resources required for a backup first have to be restored and configured. The two services are often used in combination to enable an end-to-end business continuity strategy.

How secure is my data in the SVA cloud?

The security of your data is our top priority. Our DRaaS solution is based on first-class security standards and is designed in line with the GDPR. We use encryption technologies, access control and monitoring systems. In addition, to ensure the very highest level of data security, your data is stored in our ISO 27001-certified data center in Germany.

What are the monthly costs for SVA DRaaS?

SVA DRaaS is generally billed on the basis of service level agreements (SLAs). The exact costs depend on factors including the quantity of data, the number of virtual machines protected and the desired services. Get in touch for an individual quote.

What information is needed for a quote?

To prepare a quote, we require an overview of your workloads with your security targets (recovery time, loss tolerance, etc.). We then use this information to determine the required failover capacity and draw up a quote.
